Himalayan Health & Hearing has been awarded a $10,000 Suncorp Brighter Futures grant after being nominated by staff at our local Whitsunday Suncorp branch.
The award will allow us to purchase hearing testing and hearing aid fitting equipment for two of our remote bases in southern Nepal & Ladakh. This equipment is sturdy enough to be taken on remote camps and will run reliably on solar powered batteries and inverters. It is the same quality as the equipment we use at Whitsunday Hearing, here in Cannonvale.
By equipping these remote areas, and training locals in use of the equipment and in managing hearing aids, we can extend the range and scope of our services in Nepal & northern India. Our goal is to help people become independent and able to run their own hearing programs. This grant helps us reach this goal.
